Christmas shots

Family Portrait

Who knew it would be so hard to get some pictures of two children?  Now I really understand why professional photographers have "earned" their pay.

Too cute to not share

This morning I was getting everyone ready and decided to put a cap on Lucas. As soon as I placed the cap on his head, he reached up, and turned it to the side. He looked so cute, we had to take a picture.

A Week of "Firsts"

As you can imagine, we've been pretty busy watching our 2 August Babes grow. Annabella is almost 28 months old, and Lucas is 4. Last week we celebrated some "firsts" that are worth sharing: Annabella got her first bike and Lucas ate solids for the first time.

A day of Thanksgiving

A year ago I would have never imagined that I'd be the mother of 2 beautiful children.  I am thankful to the Lord for the rambunctious 2-year old and the joyful 3-month old he has entrusted to me.  Caleb and I are enjoying watching them grow up, especially now that they've begun to interact with one another.

Mini-me?

It's been a while since I last posted - that's because these kids keep me busy.  Most of the time I'm trying to keep Annabella out of trouble.  In the last few weeks she has discovered my high-heeled shoes.   It's IMPOSSIBLE to get her to take them off once she's found them.

1 Month Old

It's hard to believe that Lucas is 1 month old today.  The time has flown by incredibly!  Or maybe I've just been so busy that I haven't had time to notice.  One thing's for sure, we are having FUN!

We praise God for a healthy baby boy.  He is a very "easy" baby, as they say.  Definitely different from Annabella temperamentally, but with his own "spunk."

Tea Time

Last week was my first week alone with both kids.  As you can tell, I survived!  It wasn't too difficult to fall into a rhythm and I've been able to manage my time with both of the kids.  Of course, it helps that Lucas sleeps most of the time.  Somehow, Annabella "needs" me just when he's awake and I'm nursing him.   Hmmm....

I have, however, enjoyed some one-on-one time with Annabella.  On Thursday we even had our first "tea party."  She was very excited to serve her "guests."

Our First "Outing"

Yesterday we ventured out and took our first "outing" as a family of four.  Since Lucas is still so young, we are trying not to expose him to large groups of people yet.  Caleb had the day off for Labor Day, so we all went out to eat.  It went well, of course Lucas slept through most of lunch.  Nonetheless, Annabella eventually decided she preferred her own table.

Happy Birthday Princess!

Monday was Annabella's 2nd birthday.  I can hardly believe that she's been with us 2 years already -- they've flown by.  The picture at the top of this post is reflective of what Annabella is all about:  she's a sweetheart that melts your heart in a moment, but is a firecracker that is always seeking to make a mark on the world.
She's growing up so quickly, but still has the sweetest moments that remind me that she is still my "baby girl."  Last week she began praying on her own.  I sat her down to eat lunch and she looked at her plate, put her hands together and said: "Chicken, arroz, papa, juice;"  followed by " Daddy, Mommy, 'Beabea' (Annabella), 'Duas' (Lucas) Amen."
We thank God that she has had a healthy 2 years and pray that he will continue to watch over her and give us wisdom as we raise her in His word.

papa, juice (jugo);" y continuó, "Daddy, Mami, Beabea (Annabella), Duas (Lucas), Amen."

(password: samah)

Healthy Babes

Photobucket Image Hosting
This past Thursday both Annabella and Lucas had visits with the pediatrician.  Both are growing healthily and are on track based on their age.

Lucas weighed in at 8 lbs 8 oz, gaining almost a pound in a week.  Annabella is weighing 28 lbs, I can hardly believe she was ever as small as her baby brother.

Our prayer is that they will continue to grow physically and that God will give us the wisdom so we can help them grow spiritually in the Lord.
